If he's not being embarrassingly booted from being Overlord, he's being exploited by a skeevy asshole or having someone he cares about killed.
LIGHTERHEARTED MY ASS, NISA.

Not that it makes it better... crap that ending just keeps getting worse and worse.
Edit: No, you know what... for me at least... this has managed to top the D2 worst end. This is worse than that ending. I didn't think this could be possible.

Actually, I think that's part of the reason why Porkmeister wants to train under Laharl. He might love his dad but it doesn't mean he loves Hoggmeiser's greedy ways.

I mean... I called that this chapter was going to be the "A-virus" chapter, IE: starts off with a hilarious situation that degrades into horror as it goes along... but I really, really wasn't expecting this.
I had kinda hoped that given Flonne's reaction at the end of that ending, the whole thing wouldn't have been as bad as it first looked like but... no... it just got worse.
Seriously... Hoggmeiser is seriously catching up to Seedle here.

Watching these endings made me realize something, barring the "kill 'em all" endings, across all off N1 games, normal story mode and bad endings, no one has had more character deaths then the D1/DD2 cast. Heck, the only main characters that haven't been killed off at some point are Gordon and Jennifer. Even Soul Nomad, arguably the darkest game from N1, ended up with less deaths that this.
Let's count:
Laharl: 2-3 bad ends (Madreas, normal end, maybe Hoggmeiser's end if the book is right)
Flonne: 1-2 bad ends (Madreas, maybe Hoggmeiser's end (depends on above)), 1 canon (turned into a flower during the game)
Etna: 1 bad end (see above),
1 joke retelling (okay so that joke in Infinite doesn't really count)Thursday: 1 canon (he got better)
Kurtis: 1 canon (GREEN BROTHER, DOOD)
Sicily: 1 bad end (see above)
Do they just enjoy killing them off or what, because no other games has this many bad endings that end up with main characters dying, heck, unless I'm mistaken, D4 didn't even have one.

As for Soul Nomad, the deaths of notable characters include...
Revya -- Died of Scarlet Iago in one ending. Killed both worlds in another
Gig -- Sacrificed himself to defeat Drazil without completely possessing Revya
Danette -- Sacrificed herself to make a crimson tear
Layna -- Killed by Levin. Killed at the beginning of the Demon Path. Sacrifices herself to power up the real Layna.
Thorndyke -- Was apprehended and executed
Shauna -- Died of Scarlet Iago
Trish -- Completely unstable after Hawthorne's rape (Honestly, you mention Seedle and yet you forget to mention this guy?). Dies some time in the Demon Path.
Endorph -- Sacrificed with an all-or-nothing Psycho Burgundy on Raksha. Gets better in one of the endings. (I swear, nothing can kill Walnut)
Levin/Raksha -- Dies taking said Psycho Burgundy. Again, gets better in another ending
Euphoria -- Dies of Scarlet Iago. Can get better.
Gesthal/Median -- Died before the game starts. Sacrifices himself to power up Revya. Unable to remain animated in the Demon Path
Agrippa -- Killed in front of Pinot because Revya is a dick who left annoying one alive.
So I definitely think what the Disgaea trio has over Soul Nomad though is that they've died in more endings than possibly any other character and most of them are really tragic.

And geez... I had forgotten about a few of the Soul Nomad's people, though personally I never really considered Euphoria/Levin/Endorph to have died. I know those three are up to interpretation, but given that there's no reasons why they would be revived and the endings, I just always assumed they survived what "killed" them. (But yes, nothing can kill Walnut) You've just proven that I truly need to replay this game once more.
Oh, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Hawthorne... it's just that I had the feeling if I used him, half the fandom would just go "who?", so I left it as just Seedle.

Although Seedle still pisses me off since he does a way worse sin and gets to become a freaking overlord while Fuka just thought about it when she was five and then completely forgot about it and ended up a prinny, that just isn't right.

Unless they actually explain that in the ending narration and I just couldn't parse it. XD
