Cripes...

If he's not being embarrassingly booted from being Overlord, he's being exploited by a skeevy asshole or having someone he cares about killed.

LIGHTERHEARTED MY ASS, NISA.

God the Etna end. DX I donno which is worse. Just. God. NIS. YOUR BAD ENDINGS. Stop being good at them. T_T

I really, really want more context on the Laharl-chan ending... because right now, it's looking skeevy as hell.

Actually yes, that sort of context.

Not that it makes it better... crap that ending just keeps getting worse and worse.

Edit: No, you know what... for me at least... this has managed to top the D2 worst end. This is worse than that ending. I didn't think this could be possible.

Wait, Hoggmeier forced Laharl to whore herself out? My lord, you should have killed him in the first game!

Pretty much... this is G-rated forced prostitution.

I mean... I called that this chapter was going to be the "A-virus" chapter, IE: starts off with a hilarious situation that degrades into horror as it goes along... but I really, really wasn't expecting this.

I had kinda hoped that given Flonne's reaction at the end of that ending, the whole thing wouldn't have been as bad as it first looked like but... no... it just got worse.

Seriously... Hoggmeiser is seriously catching up to Seedle here.

On a different topic about endings...

Watching these endings made me realize something, barring the "kill 'em all" endings, across all off N1 games, normal story mode and bad endings, no one has had more character deaths then the D1/DD2 cast. Heck, the only main characters that haven't been killed off at some point are Gordon and Jennifer. Even Soul Nomad, arguably the darkest game from N1, ended up with less deaths that this.

Let's count:
Laharl: 2-3 bad ends (Madreas, normal end, maybe Hoggmeiser's end if the book is right)
Flonne: 1-2 bad ends (Madreas, maybe Hoggmeiser's end (depends on above)), 1 canon (turned into a flower during the game)
Etna: 1 bad end (see above), 1 joke retelling (okay so that joke in Infinite doesn't really count)
Thursday: 1 canon (he got better)
Kurtis: 1 canon (GREEN BROTHER, DOOD)
Sicily: 1 bad end (see above)

Do they just enjoy killing them off or what, because no other games has this many bad endings that end up with main characters dying, heck, unless I'm mistaken, D4 didn't even have one.

I didn't count the D4 deaths, mostly because most of them happened prior to the start of the game, but yeah, I see your point.

And geez... I had forgotten about a few of the Soul Nomad's people, though personally I never really considered Euphoria/Levin/Endorph to have died. I know those three are up to interpretation, but given that there's no reasons why they would be revived and the endings, I just always assumed they survived what "killed" them. (But yes, nothing can kill Walnut) You've just proven that I truly need to replay this game once more.

Oh, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Hawthorne... it's just that I had the feeling if I used him, half the fandom would just go "who?", so I left it as just Seedle.

[personal profile] mario_zx 2013-03-26 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I would say that Hawthorne wins simply by virtue of having actually done it multiple times(although Seedle could have done it multiple times with Salome simply being the first to succeed at fighting back).

Although Seedle still pisses me off since he does a way worse sin and gets to become a freaking overlord while Fuka just thought about it when she was five and then completely forgot about it and ended up a prinny, that just isn't right.

What light-hearted endings!

Also, is it just me or does it look like the end where the Krichevskoy Faction takes the throne leads to some kind of awful rule? Sicily's end had the vassals/various demons all nice and orderly in comparison.

Unless they actually explain that in the ending narration and I just couldn't parse it. XD

Lot of those demons don't actually look too happy, do that?

Considering how they accidentally destroy the world in another ending... I think it's obvious they don't know what they're doing.

Having someone who needs to be ordered to do everything is an obvious fail, only person who could probably make it work would be Salvatore.

So wait, we got videos for all these optional endings, but still none involving, you know, the normal esiest to get one?

Still these were....interesting (and horrifying)

WHELP... I guess if the end IS hinting at what it seemed like, it wasn't quite such a bad end after all. :Oa Interesting~

Maybe they're calling it lighthearted because Sicily's overlord ending is the most adorable thing in the universe? C'mon, she could probably induce moebeetus on like, half the demons in the Netherworld!

Seriously!? Most NIS(A) fans already know the executives were practically coached by Hideaki Anno I mean how else would they get a T rating for games that contain content that GTA can't get away with-and worse? Soul Nomad is just the most blatant.
