Disgaea 2 Vol. 4: Zenon's Revenge vs Adell PUNCH! (Chapter 5)
How it took me an hour to get to Target is beyond me...
Anyway, we're heading toward final battle territory, so let's see how Adell stacks up against Zenon.
All scans from chapter 5 are available in a .zip file in the sendspace link I provided, while 20 scans from the chapter are available under the cut. As always, everyone is free to use any of the scans I provided as long as I am credited for it. Zenon: FIRST A STRIPPER, NOW A STALKER!? DO I HAVE TO GET A RESTRAINING ORDER ON YOUR ASS!?

I know said it before, but I have to say it again: Zenon is FREAKIN' HUGE!
Alright, let's just get this one over with...
Adell: ADELL!!!
Adell: PAUNCH!!!
Adell: Heh! Show me your style!
Capt. Adell's Adell Punch is not effective!!!
How can I live with myself after pulling something like that...?
Anyway, just as I predicted, that Rifle Demon is back for more, but Laharl, Etna, Flonne are ready to blast him away. He'll probably get up again, though. And I have to say it again: Yukimaru and Asagi look so cute together!
And so Fubuki finally shows his face, though it's not like it made any difference whether he showed up in this manga or not. Honestly, the two pages used for him could've been used to make the Adell vs. Zenon battle more epic. Speaking of that battle...
Float like a butterfly, sting like a ton of bricks. Ouch.
Zenon: Now that's MY style, *****!!!
Oh I'm sorry, I meant "Fake Zenon", since Zenon reveals that the real Overlord Zenon actually set him on fire--BLACK FIRE. Speaking of the real Zenon, why did Hekaton give her usual tan in the beginning, but not in this image? Better yet, why couldn't he show Fake Zenon getting his ass kicked by the real Zenon? You know what? I take back what I said about the Fubuki scene. His two pages could've been used to show the real Zenon in action.
And now Zenon goes bowling with Adell's head...
Zenon: Strike!
And you gotta admire Axel for really sticking through all this even when he knows he could get killed out here.
Adell's style and GAR powers are still keeping him up. Too bad his style is no match for Zenon's butterfly float/ton of bricks sting combination.
No, I have no idea what the dragon is for. Maybe he pulled something with the gods of death and Zenon was forced to be a dragon waiter until he could get his body back? I have absolutely no clue. But as we all know, Fake Zenon came upon the real Zenon after slaughtering the Snow Clan, who we now know is Rozalin. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention Rozalin's mom among the other beautiful NI moms.
Zenon's revenge: Lock away Zenon forever as his daughter. As if the chains didn't tell us that.
Yeah, this chapter is a little shorter, but a lot more action packed. However, as action packed as this was, I was actually looking for a little more from this final battle. Yeah, we're only half way through and Adell has been all GAR and epic throughout the last two volumes, but remember how spectacular the Adell vs. Etna battle was back in volume 3? I was hoping for something really big here and while this is an epic battle, I think there's something missing. I just can't put my finger on it. Then again, I'm also disappointed in the lack of Zenon!Rozalin once again (Who is oddly missing her tan.). I definitely needed a little more than a side shot of her with Fake Zenon covered in BLACK FIRE. I'm sorry if I offend anyone who likes Fubuki, but seriously, the pages used to make him "relevant" to the manga could've been used to enhance Zenon's flasback or the battle itself.
This might seem like I'm really disappointed, but I'm far from disappointed. I really like how imposing Zenon comes off and Adell being GAR is always a treat. Plus, even though I think this battle is missing something, it's still one of the more epic scenes in this manga. Besides, this is only part one.
Next Chapter: The Final Battle! Cue Disgaea Rhapsody!
