Disgaea 3 Manga Chapter 4

Thanks to the pool party in the last chapter, Mao has a cold and the PTA are out for revenge against him and Beryl. Then at the end of the chapter...

Nothing against the D1 characters but must they appear in every single NIS-related-thing? It's getting old. :(

I kinda wanna say it's not Laharl cuz there's something off about him, yet the antenna hair and scarf pretty say otherwise.

True, something does seem a little off. It could be the artist's style, or how they're hiding all the details--

Golly, I do hope it isn't him though. Again again, YMMV. But he, Etna, and Flonne already got rather large parts in the D2 manga. Which makes sense, since D2 was... er... rather loosely connected to the first game. Etna and all.

But Disgaea 3? Less so. D:

I... have no complaints if it is who it appears to be, but then, it's me. |D I'd love to see this artist draw him. BUUUUUUUT, understandably don't want him getting some huge part again. (and I think also, btw, you can see a bit of one of his bracelets lol)

...What I want to know is WHAT IS WITH THAT MAID? W-what's with the front bow acting like Laharl's scarf alive and like arms? Why is she looking so... mysterious? I... what is she doing at the end that makes it seem like the shadowy Laharl has something to do with her?! Did she summon him? Or....... someone who can read moonspeak, can they tell what the maid is doing? o.o

Yeah, I really want to know more about that maid. Heck, from the way the plot has been structured, she seems important than Almaz.

I don't have any complaints either, but something bugs me about it. The scarf, hair, and bracelets point to Laharl, but at the same time there is something definitely off about the shadowy Laharl.

Oh I know why he looks so strange now! Laharl became a Heartless! *shot*

Well, there's more even off! if the maid did summon him... it was a very FAST summon. How could she convince him in THAT short of time to blow open the door for her? HOW?

Argh... next chapter needs to come out REALLY soon. T_T

He's been in everything since his debut in the first Disgaea outside of crossover games (Etna fills that roll) so obviously people would have problems with him. Even more so if they didn't like Laharl to begin with.

Aside from Disgaea 2 (that I can recall off my head), he's just been the bonus boss/character since his appearance.

Besides, NIS is known for their blatant cameos and fanservice, he's an optional feature so I don't see a problem with that.

Yeah, but people just don't like the fact that he gets to show up in every game whereas other NI favorites don't. I personally don't mind it too much, but then again, he is my second favorite character.

It seems to me that Laharl was NIS's personal favorite back in the early days, when Disgaea's popularity took off and landed them a substantial market outside of Japan. Nowadays NIS is starting to put loads and loads of recurring characters, so the argument that Laharl gets to show up when someone else's favorite character doesn't is a little moot (even Ash finally showed up!), unless your favorite character is one that hasn't shown up ever since their debut at all, but I can see where people are coming from.

Some people just find it annoying. I don't think it really needs a logical reason, he's just everywhere and there's other perfectly fine characters that deserve some spotlight as well.

Ok, Geoffrey was creepy enough, was it really necessary a maid? What she's hiding? Is she related to Aurum?
That really looks like Laharl, but it's too soon for him to appear :/ .

By the way, shouldn't Mao be going to the Heart Bank ? I guess the mangaka wants the readers to first get used to the school and characters :) .

(And the scene with the prinnies crying, and Mao sick... it was awkwardly cute ;_; )
