The original video post went up to 7 and I saw up to 4. From what I saw, Valbatoze was training the Prinnies until they're sucked through a dimensional hole and Val goes out to find the culprit. The first character the find is Axel and what surprises me is that he calls him out by name because the first thing most characters say when they see him is "Who are you?" and "What the hell are you doing?". He apparently also has some sort of title that Val is calling him (Akutare-gokcho?).

Well, this is just the trophy list, so I'm not counting out an upgraded Asagi sprite, but that would be very disappointing if they did that. It was only funny the first time they did that in Disgaea 2 and it would just be cruel after Asagi Wars. Also, I wish they went with Beryl's teacher outfit again rather than sticking to her school uniform.

I like the new trophy icons so far. Some of the conditions are rather interesting, and also not surprising. Like the Etna and Laharl trophy ones, you can already take a guess as to what the conditions are.

Ah, yes, that. It has been mentioned in one of the earlier articles about D4.

I just received my copy today, played halfway through chapter 1.(Already started grinding a bit, lol)

Fenrich's personality is...interesting, to say the least. It's clear that he respects Val, but he comes off as more stoic, cold-blooded and willing to dirty his hands if it means Val will be put into a good position. He randomly slips almost insult-like phrases every once in a while(even though they're delivered in extremely polite speech), and is especially bothered by Val's tendencies to keep promises.

Fenrich: Yes, I am very well aware of your excellency's worthless belief.

Fenrich: I have things that I must do, I cannot afford to lose your excellency to your usual foolish and mindless antics.

etc.

He's EXTREMELY bothered by Val's loss of his original power, and comments on it whenever he gets the chance to. Yes, even in tutorials. In fact, the game starts off with him trying to make Val accidentally ingest human blood by stuffing it in sardines.

Fenrich: With combo attacks, even your excellency can regain 1/100000th of your former prowess.

Chapter 1 is basically Val trying to fulfill his promise to the prinnies, to give them natural sardines as a gift for graduation, but they've been swept away before he could do that. Axel tells Val that the government is planning mass execution of prinnies(blaming all problems from worse education to population density on the increasing number of prinnies), and Val is determine to not even let the government get into the way of his promise. (Note of importance: The fact that the little prinnies are getting massacred isn't what's bothering him - it's the fact that he can't fulfill a promise. Typical Disgaea humor, haha.)

Ah, poor prinnies. Still, isn't it quite a good thing Val promised them that? Aha...

Great. From the very first episode, he's already giving us Geoffrey/Aurum vibes.

I hope Fenrich turn out to be better then what, I hated Aurum.

I do believe that Fenrich truly means well for Val though. Val himself isn't too self-conscious of his previous status as the emperor of vampires, but Fenrich firmly believes that Val was meant for greater things.

I actually Aurum as a villain compared to the previous Disgaea villains. Vulcanus was occasionally funny, but meh. Fake Zenon looked cool (He looked like a Super Saiyan Dracula), but he seemed so generic. And he didn't have to be all secretly fatherly like in the manga, but there was just nothing. That and it looked like he photoshopped his final form. Aurum was at least an interesting villain, looked kinda cool, and he had an awesome English voice.

Still, I'm hoping Fenrich does not turn out that way.

Oh I agree, Aurum is probably the best villain Disgaea has ever had, he was good character, I just did not like what he did to Mao. Kinda like Seedle, good character, bad person and I hated his guts.

Well, these are interesting factoids. I'm still keeping an eye out for storyline/character spoilers.

My copy shipped Wednesday night, but due to it being registered SAL, the earliest I'll get it is probably sometime late next week.

Finished the rest of chapter one today.

Fenrich is a really manipulative guy..er..werewolf. When he first decided that Axel would get into the way of his master, he sent off a squad of prinnies to frame Axel as the one who wanted to rebel against the government for prinnies. Even when Axel tried defending himself in face of capture, Fenrich used that situation to his advantage and exclaimed how foolish he was for not realizing the DEEP LOVE that Axel harbored for the prinnies. Val, being somewhat ignorant of Fenrich's true intentions, was deeply moved by Axel's supposed love, and beat off his capturers. After the battle, Axel 'joins the party, but because he's so useless, he won't participate in battle'.

We meet Emizel next, whom Axel tries to suck up to in order to gain favor from the President. He charges at Emizel begging for forgiveness, and Fenrich comments on how gallantly Axel is fighting for the prinnies, he's trying to solo the entire squad by himself and take the head of Emizel! *tears* Emizel, being the easily intimidated brat he is(if Val as much as glares his way, he shudders), brings out his staff and swings it wildly at Axel, presumably killing him. Daawwwww. Val swears to Axel's 'corpse' that he'll carry on his DEEP LOVE of prinnies and continue his fight. All while Fenrich is doing everything he can to paint Axel as the leader of the rebels, and that they themselves were only following his orders as his subordinates....how sneaky of you. Emizel retreats at the end of the battle.

Emizel: How...did you get so strong?
Fenrich: Hmph, it is no surprise for my master to possess such strength. After all, he is-
Val: Sardines!
Fenrich: ....

The prinnies get released and Val tells them that he doesn't give a damn about what happens to them after he fulfills his promise, but promises that he'll protect them from the government if they became his servants. An offer you can't refuse, lol. Val decides to challenge the useless government.

Fuuka appears at the end and declares war on Val who's helping the prinnies. She's part of the Prinny Extermination Squad, made up of human souls that couldn't become prinnies due to lack of materials.

Also, hilarious conversation of the chapter.

Val: (standing by Axel's 'corpse') This is...my tribute to you.*puts something on Axel*
Fenrich: ...your excellency, what is that?
Val: The head of a sardine. Apparently they were often used to ward off evil.
Fenrich: ...I'm not sure if your excellency is truly paying tribute, or just being nasty to him....but that's fine too.

Deep... love? Goodness, Fenrich.

I'm beginning to think that sardines are not merely favorites, but an obsession to Val. I, I mean--! Paying tribute with a head of a sardine? Believing that they were used to ward off evil?

He might be, but so far, I haven't seen him join the party.

He is, but you don't get him playable in the main storyline. He's like Laharl, Etna and Archangle Flonne in that you can only get them postgame.

Ah, well, what are Desco's specials, and the angels?

Desco's specials seem to be based on previous Disgaea final bosses probably as nod to her trying to become a final boss. Her first attack is based on Zenon's Dark Revenge (The fire/ice cyclone attack) and her second attack is based on Aurum's Demon Slayer (The one where he summons the giant sword). Her magichange is based on one of Zengar Zombolt's Zankantou attacks from Super Robot Wars.

If by the angel you mean Volcano, the only one I saw was that Kamen Rider kick-esque attack from the trailer.
