Ending your sentences in hearts doesn't necessarily mean love. In fact, most of the time, it a sentence that ends with hearts has either an erotic tone or a playfully teasing tone. Case in point, Axel's delusion above. Jennifer and Etna also use this quite a bit in the games. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if her attitude towards love changed slightly. If I remember correctly, defade did say that Lamington tried to get her to see it's significance.
