I would rather want to see a new Disgaea spinoff rather than a new Disgaea game so soon, they just got done with the DLC for 4.

Well, the game won't appear that soon since it takes a long time to complete a game. Maybe two years from here? The article only confirms that yes, Disgaea 5 is in their thoughts and that they're also thinking about making other Disgaea related games ("new ways to expand the series").

I remember reading that interview but this one is more recent (2011-11-21).

...I guess the money they got with Disgaea 4 brought their enthusiasm back?

I personally can't wait to see what they do with the PSVita. I love them portable games.

Disgaea 3 redeux, a Monster Hunter 3g Vita equivalent (hopefully), and the Persona 4 remake are what I am keeping an eye out for.

Also, if I see any signs of a Vita version of Disgaea 4 after all of the money I expect to throw down on the PS3 DLC or if they pull a D3 and release all of the D4 DLC in a lump package with a new piece of content just after I bought all of the separate DLC bits I am afraid that I will "face-desk" so hard that I'll split my laptop keyboard in two and end up rooted head-first in my basement floor after having read the news in my 2nd floor room!

They do talk about Disgaea 5 so its future existence is confirmed, but I honestly don't think it will appear that soon. All Disgaeas' release date are separated by 3 years...
