Apparently physical (not sure about digital) Makai Kingdom shipped with a game-breaking bug. The game is literally un-progressable at present.

Like, we're at least in the era of patches, but that's still a baffling and nasty bug to have slip through. Crashes are top priority in QA, and this isn't even an obscure one, from what I've been reading? It's that the intro cutscene for a chapter causes it?? You'd think a basic smoke test would catch it, how on earth

It really is.

I want to buy these collections! They are extremely relevant to my interests! But I'd sure like them to also be playable! I still haven't forgiven them for Ar tonelico 2, tbh.
