Maritsu Evil Academy | Disgaea 3 Info
Mao's School information, translated by Arashiken.

View of the World
(Page 1)
[Maritsu Evil Academy]
A Netherworld school established to produce excellent demons.
No one knows when it was founded, or by whom.
The school building is divided into tens or hundreds of sections and it's hard to say if even the school principal has a grasp of the whole picture.
In this school building which has been altered and expanded repeatedly, there may be classrooms in which no one has ever set foot.
There are classrooms like fake jungles, and rooms that are like hell fire.
There are traps everywhere, and just getting to a classroom can be a pain.
It seems that some of the students have decided to play it safe and settle down in one of the school buildings.
(Page 2)
Those at the school are divided into Level 1 Students, Level 2 Students, Level 3 Students, Teachers, and the helper Prinnies.
[Note: The word for teacher here is pronounced "kyoushi", like one of the normal words for teacher, but the "kyou" has been replaced with a different kanji pronounced "kyou" which means "evil"]
Inside the school building, you'll mainly see Level 1 Students. They're normal demons.
Level 2 Students are upper-rank demons. They show themselves from time to time on a whim.
Level 3 Students are said to possess majin-level power, but no one has ever seen one.
[Note: "Majin" is what NISA usually translates as "Demon Lord", e.g. Majin Etna -> Demon Lord Etna]
Also, among the Level 3 Students, there are rumored to be super-students known as the "Ten Gentlemen", but their existence has become an urban legend.
(Page 3)
The school rules primarily consist of one line.
"One, do not follow the school rules."
Quite a few students and teachers have pondered this.
However, by nature demons usually don't think too deeply about things, so the only ones who would worry over the existence of something unimportant like the school rules are the diligent, serious delinquent students.
Beyond that one, there are some other basic rules designed to raise up splendid demons.
Rule 4: Don't do good things.
Rule 9: Run in the halls.
Rule 13: Be deliberate and thorough in your cheating.
Rule 666: Lick the bottom of the lid on your yogurt.
(Page 4)
Not coming to school, skipping classes, being late, leaving early, and other sorts of truant activity are praised.
Bad students who act like demons should are called honor students, while those who do things like attend class and volunteer, i.e. good kids who do things that aren't fitting for demons, are called delinquent students.
If you thoughtlessly attend class diligently, you'll be scolded by the teachers, so as yet no one has graduated from the academy.
Since the teachers also skip, the classrooms being completely empty during class time is an everyday sight.
---
Let's talk about this, it's an interesting premise for the school. I actually laughed out loud and smiled reading this, but it also begs the question on why do people go to the school, you know? Maybe their parents force them...
Either way! What do you guys think? :D
Edit Oh snap, almost forgot.
Champloo-Sensei's Profile -
Champloo-sensei
He's a Home Economics teacher and a master of High Heat-Style Chaos-School Kitchen Sword. [Tsuyobi-ryuu Konton-ha Chuubou-ken]
[Note: "Home Economics" here is pronounced "kateika", like the normal word for home economics, but the middle kanji has been changed to one meaning "abandon" or "give up".
Also note that the "High Heat" here refers to high heat in cooking.]
He has strong faith in his cooking and his heart; he'll show up suddenly in front of Mao and the others, make a proclamation, and disappear like smoke.
He often says good stuff, but because he frequently uses cooking metaphors, a lot of what he says is ambiguous or cryptic......
Comment by Harada Takehito
This is the "home economics" teacher, Champloo-sensei.
[Note: "Chanpuru" is very close to "Chanpuruu", a type of stir-fry. Fitting for a chef, huh?]
He wears a jersey and an apron.
He's based on the Makai Chef generic character from Phantom Kingdom [Makai Kingdom].
