(E-erm. To explain the subtitle would... be... difficult without spoiling things. As with all the Disgaea subtitles, the meaning really only sinks in at the near-end/end of the main story.
BUT I THINK I CAN DO THIS WITHOUT SPOILERS m-maybe
It has to do with one of the themes of the game, that is, the theme of "heroes".)
Humm, really? I- if I could I would spill things so that it's clear! I- wait, let me try something.
H-highlight to read?! I- but yeah spoilers, so please avoid if you really do care about that sort of thing. :(
HUGE SPOILERS (I'm trying to be vague but it's not working):The subtitle has to do with the final boss of the game. He's supposed to be a great, famous hero. But you discover that he is, in fact, a manipulative bastard- who's caused the main characters a lot of grief. At the end of the game, he asks Almaz: "What does it take for someone to be a hero?" Almaz answers, saying that heroes need courage, a good sense of justice in their heart. Our final boss scoffs at this. He thinks otherwise. Add things up and you get, "Absence of Justice". Ah, what does our final boss believe? T-that would be telling. A-and I've babbled on incoherently enough so, uhm.
... yeah! Something like that! Except in a more coherent way!
