Mr. mangaka, don't you think you overreacted about the belts part ? I don't think dark Mao needs tons of BELTS on his socks and wrists.
When I saw the princess so badly hurt it made so sad I almost cried...
This chapter was quite confusing for me, did Mao transformed into the Vasa Aergun monster? And those prinnies with different hats? Who are they? So far I prefer the game story version.
Actually, I thought this was the least confusing chapter for me and was probably the most interesting. I did like that we finally got to see Mao's heart...where Dark Mao is making all the other Maos power the Vasa Aergun (And I agree about the belts. I guess he was trying to differentiate him from the other Maos. The chains look kinda cool though).
While I felt bad for Sapphire, the fact that she was so banged up from a single claw flick is almost hilarious.
Mao had transformed into the Vasa Aergun monster in the previous chapters after the ninja maid sacrificed herself. The Prinnies with the hats are just random Prinnies. I guess the mangaka wanted to make them look like soldiers?
And yeah, I do prefer the game version. Although I do like the mysterious ninja maid, the manga is all over the place and just seems so hard to follow.
Ahh...Thanks for the clarification (^^). I'm looking at the chapters pages again. I noticed something very weird though, it looks like Princess Sapphire is crying in page 4 (when she's yelling at Beryl). Did you notice that too o.o? Are those tear drops? The game states that she never cries of sadness...
And Sir Aurum appears surprisingly earlier. The manga makes him look like a true hero who's there to save the day. However, the game made him just look like a sneaky jerk, ah. I think this story is going to have a very different ending from the original one.
Well, considering how quickly we're going through the manga, I wouldn't be surprised if the mangaka chose to leave that out. Heck, she and Almaz have very little development, especially Almaz who had been there since chapter 1 (Though that could just be due to me not being able to read Japanese).
There's no doubt that the manga will probably end different but I'm pretty sure that Aurum is still the villain in the end. I mean, in the previous chapter and even in this chapter, you can see Aurum's silhouette when Geoffrey pulls his mask off and the ninja maid isn't exactly pleased to see him. The reason why he's appearing now is most likely because Mao has lost it and has become the evil Overlord-Monster that he always wanted to slay so now was the time to become the hero. Heck, now that I think about it, minus the Human World, we're practically going into Human World/Worst ending territory.
I cannot remember where exactly (I think it was a blog), but the person who posted it said that he thought it was the maid's name because of the list of characters. Apparently, メイ means 'May'. Not so sure though.
So... how's that translation project going? I really want to know what Sapphire's saying, not to mention what seems to be the maid's first speaking role.
Also: Holy crap, Sapphire! Nooo! I seriously didn't expect that to happen. Never thought I'd be glad to see Aurum, that's for sure. Aaaand now I feel dirty... Almaz, get in there and do something!
It's a personal theory of mine that the Vasa Aergun attack is actually a glimpse at Mao's true form - kind of the opposite of Babylon in Makai Kingdom, who when you fight him he shows he can compress himself into a small humanoid size.
Mao's dad is just so damn big, and Mao's still a kid by demon standards, his mana size just isn't big enough to maintain his true form for too long. Or more likely, he prefers his smaller form since they don't make Giant Overlord sized Slaystations.
(You can be sure I'm going to use this theory in Fail to the King!)
But anyway, something tells me the author supports this theory too. You know what they say about strange minds...
I'm even weirder--ninja maid became a cloud of gas and rained on Mao, allowing him to achieve Vasa Aergun. I'm going with the theory that she may be the original Vasa Aergun and by extension Mao's mother (how the hell else did Mao's dad find somebody?)
That's the theory I'm using for Gehenna's Holy Queen anyway
Though her being alive in Mao's heart kinda pokes holes, but oh well
