Lamington does explain it or at least I think he does. The problem is that it requires someone with a MUCH better grasp on the Japanese language to really get what some of the exposition in that scene (Again, much of what I say is based on observations, listening to the voice acting, and apply the bits and pieces of Japanese that I know). I'll try and watch it again and see if I can pick anything apart.
