I haven't watched the streams in order sadly and so a lot of the spoilers I post will be disjointed but this is an abridged version of what I posted on tumblr:

First, let's get this out of the way -- "LIGHTHEARTED", MY ASS NIPPON ICHI!

Anyway...

* Disgaea trio:
Are exactly as you remember them from the first game. Anyone worried about flanderized characters from their cameos will be relived that their character development is intact and much of what you liked about them from the first game is there.

* Sicily:
Apparently, she's a "Maatenshi" which I'm assuming means "Demon-Angel" as it contains the words "Maa" from "Akuma" meaning demon and "Tenshi" meaning angel. Now is she really related to Laharl by blood. Yes...through some strange thing that happened when Laharl's mom died. I'm still having trouble figuring it all out.

* Barbara:
So here's our single quirk character. Her character is based on loyalty and following orders to the dime. Interesting quirk considering that this is the Netherworld...but without orders she can't do crap. In the bad ending, she fails to escape a void because no one ordered her to run away and when Flonne asks her a favor, she considers that blasphemy.

* Xenolith:
Is our big bad and Etna's older brother. Apparently, something happened a long time ago and Krichevskoy took in Xenolith's little sister while Xenolith had troubles that he had to deal with. He wants to connect with his sister again, but Etna is pissed that all of a sudden he decides show up in her life and refuses to acknowledge him as her brother. Making matters worse is that he is essentially a walking mass of demon energy that threatens the entire Netherworld. Etna keeps saying that she doesn't care about him and wants him dead but during the ending, when he's sucked into the earth, she tells him to live and not wanting to lose another person in her life after what happened with Krichevskoy. Unfortunately, he succumbs and in the end Etna says "I'll be waiting for you...my...stupid...brother..."

* Hoggmeiser:
Nope, just kidding. There is no Hoggmeiser. That character in the trophy list? That's Porkmeister, the son that tackled Laharl in the first game now all grown up and wanting to train under Laharl. Laharl doesn't want an apprentice but decides to test Porkmeister if he will be worth his time. Porkmeister obviously loses but Laharl decides to keep him as his vassal because being a vassal and being an apprentice are two different things Except it rarely ever is in Laharl's case. Just ask his friends--I mean, vassals.

Post game
* Emizel:
"Yo dawg, I heard you liked me better when I was a whinny spoiled son of the President, so I went through a Character Rerailment and brought my Abaddon crew with me. Oh and I got my ass kicked by Laharl."

I have to admit, I actually kind of like Barbara's concept. Even if she's a single-quirk character, they actually kind of deconstruct her quirk during the bad ending. It's a cameo-worthy quirk, but it's also kind of a tragic quirk, I guess?

Oh I'm not saying it's a bad quirk or anything like that. I kinda like the idea of a person so loyal that without someone to be loyal to, she can't do anything. It's a quirk that can be used for humor (Like suddenly being loyal to a cat who she can't even understand) but it's also a very tragic quirk as shown in the bad ending.

* Petta:
aka "Mecha Beam Girl" to Laharl and is looking for Zetta. That book she's holding is, I guess, just a replica of his Sacred Tome form. Unfortunately, she's having trouble telling Laharl that she's looking for Zetta because when she says she's looking for the "Badass Freakin' Overlord" (Or "Strongest Overlord in the Universe" if you want the more literal version), Laharl immediately cuts her off and says that's him. After the fight, Petta finally tells them that she's looking for Zetta and Laharl decides to help her, but first, she has to become his vassal, which the game decides for her. Also, Sicily is happy to find another Overlord's daughter around her age (Well, physical age at least).

Axel: Yeah, start doubting continuity because he's not President Axel here but the Super Dark Hero who arrived fashionably late to the Super Idol audition. Because yeah, being a Super Dark Hero is not enough. The thing is that the audition is over (Which was done in the main game) but, of course, he believes that everyone's ignorance is some ploy to shake him up and in the end faces them. Eventually, he forces himself into the party and gets a little too close to the trio. And if Axel and Emizel didn't completely kill any chance of continuity...

Artina: Comes in destroys it completely. Apparently, she's holding Porkmeister hostage due to money Hoggmeiser owes. She wonders why Laharl would show up at the exchange instead of Hoggmeiser and Laharl is all "Cuz he's my vassal and I don't take kindly to those who kidnap my vassals! And I'm not saving you, Porkmeister! This is my duty as an Overlord!" Flonne and Sicily realize that Artina is an angel and are thus surprised that angel would resort to such underhanded tactics like holding demons ransom. But she wants them to realizes she's not as bad as she seems and wants to explain herself so she let's Porkmeister go. Too bad. Laharl says it's time to apprehend the kidnapper. I should note that everything plays out like a cop story from Flonne yelling over a megaphone to surrender Porkmeister to Laharl ordering everyone to apprehend the suspect.

Okay, there is something after the battle she says that might explain things. Apparently, the reason why she's here is that she's collecting the funds that Hoggmeiser owes...in the future! Apparently there's some sort of time paradox going on. So yes, this post game is pre-Disgaea 4 which would explain everything else. Doesn't explain why she doesn't recognize Flonne though. She also introduces herself as Artina. I kinda wish she called herself Vulcanus again just to see the reaction ("Former Archangel Vulcanus!? We knew you'd be up to no good, especially with that sexy body of yours!").

Valvatorez and Fenrich: Okay, part of the beginning is missing but it looks like Laharl has been searching to test his power against the famed Tyrant Valvatorez who has now become the King of Hades...or so he thought. However, despite the shock that he has "squandered his demon powers" by taking up a lowly job as Prinny Instructor Valvatorez (Fenrich: My lord, even if you are Prinny Instructor, please use a better title introduce yourself), Laharl wants to know if he is as powerful as the rumors say. Val says that if he really wants to know, he'd happily show him.

So of course, spirit and fortitude can only truly overcome everything if you're the main character. Laharl acknowledges Val's strength as the real deal but in the end, he's still the stronger demon. Now that the battle is done, it's time return to tending to the Prinnies, however, Laharl reminds him that this was a battle between demons and he should know better what happens next. Val says that while he wouldn't mind, he still has his job and Prinnies to take care of. So of course Laharl says his Netherworld is without a Prinny Caretaker and needs a strong demon like Val to take care of them. Val falls for it hook, line, and sinker and Fen sighs as he joins him.

This is gonna be kinda really dark, but one of the theories I have about Sicily is... what if Mama was unknowingly pregnant when she died?

Mama became a Prinny, but where did Sicily go? Might explain how she wound up in Celestia as an angel. Then again, I do hope they explain it in game and we'll get it once a real translation is done, because I kinda hope I'm wrong, because that's going into uncomfortable dark territory right there.

Then again "LIGHTHEARTED MY ASS" seems to be the real subtitle of DD2...

Was there any flashbacks with Laharl's papa and mama?

Not that I remember seeing. The most important moments regarding Krichevskoy and Laharl's mom were mostly exposition from Xenolith or Lamington

The one spoiler I want to know is, what is with Flonne? Has she been demoted? Is this prior to her becoming an Archangel? Can she switch between forms? What?

In a way, I like her both ways, but I know a lot of people have the "she got demoted because of D4" theory... but honestly, I dislike that one, if only because it makes no sense development wise.

Why spend three games, including one of them with having her study to become an angel again as a subplot, building up Archangel Flonne, only to have her demoted off screen? It honestly seems like a huge waste of plot.

All I know is that the current Archangel is "Viruna". Maybe we'll learn something once one of the streams shows the Artina scene but considering that pre-character development Emizel is showing up...

I hate the idea of Flonne being "demoted because of D4", Flonne has shown so much promise and for them throw that all away for a joke does not sit well with me.

It has something to do with Xenolith and the way he is. That I know for sure. All that we need is an explanation.

Headcanon based on the spoilers: In the novels Krichevskoy left Laharl in the care of Yasurl and Vesuvius for a hundred years so that he could take care of Sicily as an infant in Celestia and have time left to do his Overlord duties.

I think this mostly because I can’t picture Krichevskoy being so stupid as to leave Laharl when he needed him the most unless he had a good reason.

I guess in the game he is left in the care of Rainier for the same reason?
