I actually expected the cover to look something like this. Usually when an NI game comes out in the U.S., it's usually just the main character(s) and nothing more. The only exception I can think of is Disgaea: Hour of Darkness (Maybe Afternoon of Darkness as well) and Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories (The red eyes in the backgrounds was pretty cool).
Still, I agree they should've used something more than just Mao looking all badass and stuff. Still, at least the cover looks better than Makai Kingdom and Soul Nomad's cover.
I didn't mind Makai Kingdom's, since Zetta was really the only main character in that game. Disgaea 3 has five main characters though, so it just feels a bit out of place. I like the group pictures better.
Of course! The best of friends may be thousands of miles away, but their hearts are near each other! The dim light shadowing his face partially, a wicked grin glistening ...
Ah, exactly♥ Almaz struggling against the straps holding him down and... ... should- should we really be going on like this in a public community? Ahahaha~
Aw, lucky. I've tried this! I tell them that the games are awesome and funny and fun and they should play them and all I get are blank stares. Guess I'll need to change my tactic. I need more gamer friends, sob
My brother was actually the reverse. He said the game was okay until a few things started to make him change his mind:
A) He started to notice the BGMs and then said to me "How can you play a game with circus music?" B) He hates he can't say d00d without having someone mention Disgaea or Prinnies C) Hates the plot and characters
In fact, the only NI games he liked were Phantom Brave and Makai Kingdom. He liked Makai Kingdom for the vehicles but I have to wonder if it's the gameplay alone that made him go all the way to the end. Still he doesn't like the characters very much, except for Ash, who he thinks is chill. He thinks Walnut and Raphael are gay and absolutely loathes Marona (Especially when she gave away "A Lot of Money").
(E-erm. To explain the subtitle would... be... difficult without spoiling things. As with all the Disgaea subtitles, the meaning really only sinks in at the near-end/end of the main story.
BUT I THINK I CAN DO THIS WITHOUT SPOILERS m-maybe
It has to do with one of the themes of the game, that is, the theme of "heroes".)
Humm, really? I- if I could I would spill things so that it's clear! I- wait, let me try something.
H-highlight to read?! I- but yeah spoilers, so please avoid if you really do care about that sort of thing. :(
HUGE SPOILERS (I'm trying to be vague but it's not working):The subtitle has to do with the final boss of the game. He's supposed to be a great, famous hero. But you discover that he is, in fact, a manipulative bastard- who's caused the main characters a lot of grief. At the end of the game, he asks Almaz: "What does it take for someone to be a hero?" Almaz answers, saying that heroes need courage, a good sense of justice in their heart. Our final boss scoffs at this. He thinks otherwise. Add things up and you get, "Absence of Justice". Ah, what does our final boss believe? T-that would be telling. A-and I've babbled on incoherently enough so, uhm.
... yeah! Something like that! Except in a more coherent way!

I'm proud of being a fan too! B-but I know of no one else in this town (except maybe one person) who has played the games, sob
