I am wondering, has anyone here read the light novels? I fell upon an entry on TV Tropes regarding them, and it blew my mind. I have burning questions and am illiterate in Japanese. Is there anyone out there?

And if this is not allowed, please do not hesitate to slap me. D:

I read on TV tropes that Laharl's Aunt Yasurl/Yasuruu is responsible for Laharl's aversion to busty women. What exactly did she do to him?! D:

Well, it's more the fact that Yasurl reminded me a lot of Etna in terms of looks, so the fact that she's pulling something like that... I guess part of it depends on the circumstances?

See, I've always wanted to know more about them, but can't find the information anywhere. XD And I don't know enough Japanese yet to be able to read much of anything, otherwise I'd grab them up for myself in a heartbeat. I especially would love hearing what kind of information they have on Mama and the whole Angel!Vyers thing, but considering how he's my favorite character... that's probably to be expected. 8D;;

I can kind of see it going either way. Though Yasurl being to Krichevskoy what Etna is to Laharl is kind of an amusing thought to me.

I'll take that into consideration. Right now I'm drawn up in 2 major translation projects and university applications, so probably not anytime soon, but I've been thinking of doing snippets of it.

Until then I could answer questions? lol Keep in mind that I'm still halfway through the 2nd novel though. I read something about Laharl's mom in On Love - she was the wife of some king, IIRC, and she carried Excalibur(yes, that one) which attracted the attention of Sakura, a former angel general now maddeningly obsessed with collecting all kind of swords...I think she kidnapped Gwen to Netherworld and made her work for a few hundred years before Papa swept in. Lots of stuff happened, Excalibur ended up in Laharl's hands and he beats the shit out of Sakura for mistreating his mom by firing up Excalibur with 6~7 Omega Fires.

I've only read that part so I'm still in the dark about the detailed circumstances.XD

I vaguely recall Sakura saying something to Laharl about her extending Gwen's life span and helping her survive all those years in Netherworld...so 200+ might not be her natural life span. Haven't gotten to the details though.

Aside from that Lamington and Laharl's conversations are pretty full of win. It goes something like...

Lamington: You leave me with no choice. I will have to use force.
Laharl: Hey, stop right there! You're in Netherworld right now, so no fighting without MY permission!
Lamington: I see, then please give permis-
Laharl: No! I'm beating the crap out of her!
Lamington: But this is a problem concerning Celest-
Laharl: You fool!　It's all because of your mistakes that landed me in such horrible situations...I even had to ask humans for help!
Lamington: Therefore, that's my respon-
Laharl: That's why you're such a fool! How do you expect to make it up to me!?

maybe all of us from this community could try to chip in and donate some money towards your project to translate it..because translating a few hundred pages seems like alot of work especially doing it free.

not that its not appreciated.
