A new video showing off 27 minutes of Disgaea 5 gameplay has gone up. It shows us some of the characters specials such as Seraphina, and Usalias specials. It also shows off some of character creation and the new way to boost skills where instead of a percentage it improves the base power allowing you to take a skill from E>A. We also get to see some skits in the game and get a good look at the base.

I've been a fan of the Disgaea games since launch day of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on the PS2. Since that day, I've been relatively obsessed with Disgaea games and news, to the point where I warned my girlfriend of a few months (at the time) that I would need my 'Disgaea-time' every once in a while when a new game or port came out. She accepted, even going so far as to say "it's cute how much you like Disgaea."

Over these past 11 or so years, I've spent a considerable amount of time playing Disgaea games, but surprisingly, I've never really explored the depths of the post game content as much as the typical fan. Usually how I play my Disgaea is I create a ton of characters, usually as many as is allowed, and I strive to keep them relatively similarly powered and leveled. If somebody starts to fall considerably behind, I'll spend a couple hours making him/her/it relevant again.

So last night I finally reached a milestone, playing Disgaea 4 on the Vita. I leveled a character to 9999. Prior to this I think my highest ever character was likely in the low 6000's in Disgaea D2. My first 9999 is a nekomata named Nina, who I've recreated in every game so far that has had a nekomata class. Shortly after that, I got Desco to 9999, and Fenrich is not far behind at 8900 or so.

Next up on my list of milestones to complete is to get a level 40 weapon.

Does anybody else remember the first time they got to 9999? Or the first time they got a Yoshitsuna, or the first time they defeated Baal?

A new Disgaea 4 Returns Trailer has been released it shows off the game and its new and improved features.

Also if you have a save data from Disgaea 3 Returns you unlock Rutile and Stella to use in the game. The video also shows that the cheat shop seems to be in the game as well, also the weapon appearance changers is in as well, and the generics will have their job skills as well. Also the cheat shop will be making a return as well.

Some more information has been revealed about D4R.

Apparently there is going to be a time loop that will be the focus of the new storyline. Also the new character is called Nagi Clockwork.

A new article for Disgaea 4 has gone up, at both Siliconera and Dengeki

The articles both state that there will be additional storylines focusing on the characters including one that has Valvatorez cradling a dieing Artina. In addition to the story lines there will be new moves such as the peta spells.

The cameo characters are Valvatorez, Fenrich, Emizel, Peta, hogmiser apparently, asagi, Axel, and Artina, and Dark death evilman. Damn I really thought that Renya would be in this.

A new article with info on Disgaea D2 has come out it has info on 2p Etna and Laharl-chan as well as our first look at laharl-chans sprite. It also shows how some of the old systems have been updated such as the master-student extra gain system. Also there will be base customization like in Disgaea 4, also states that next article will show a new monster and info on the monster riding system.

Also apparently Fuka actually did have something to do with why Flonne is back in the netherworld since If you look closely at Etna's thought bubble it shows her thinking of a prinny with a prinny cap.

Cicely, voiced by Kaori Ishihara, was sent from heaven to the devil king, Laharl. She claims to be his little sister. There is a conversation between the two where Cicely becomes embarrassed when Laharl flatters her.

A few additional details were also revealed. In the devil king’s castle, besides Laharl, you can also control Etna and Flonne. The contents of their conversations change, too. In combat, events will happen under certain conditions."

The article also says that DD2 is a new series separate from the main numbered series. Whether this means more adventures for the Disgaea trio or letting Adell, Mao, or Val have another go is unknown but regardless this is all kinds of awesome.

Social game maker GREE can add another intellectual property to their growing list. They have Disgaea on their service with Disgaea Makai Collection. Dione Entertainment, a subsidiary of Nippon Ichi Software, made turned the strategy RPG series into a card game. Players can collect cards with characters from the entire Disgaea series. Although, it looks like the lead characters from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness have an edge.

I know the Disgaea trio are the most popular but that's unfair for the rest of the Disgaea mains.

This one sadly doesn't come with a pullout, but I guess Chou Niku has his hands full. After all, he's working on the Disgaea 4 manga and I think he has other projects on his hands as well.

Anyway, the Disgaea trio obviously appears along with Ozonne, Shas, and Axel. Not exactly sure what's going on, but it does seem like there's some sort of movie involved since Laharl is holding a script and megaphone and Flonne is holding a microphone on the character page. As for when it takes place, the last chapter break clues into this taking place after Disgaea 4, which means Flonne can probably switch freely between Fallen Angel and Archangel form and takes the Fallen Angel form when she's around Laharl and Etna. Then again, Raspberyl Mode already demonstrated that.

Not scanning the whole thing for obvious reasons. It's smaller than the Takehito Harada Art Works since it's more Disgaea centric (The four main games, the Prinny series, Infinite, and the Mugen Keitai cell phone game. The other cell phone game is absent.) but with the exception of the DISGAEArt cover, the battle cuts, and the ending art work ~~Minus the Disgaea 4 epilogue art for some reason~~, all of the Harada artwork can be found in the Art Works book. If you want only one book or just want to save and not pay almost $100 for them together, I'd suggest getting Harada Art Works ($48+) over DISGAEArt ($42+).

It does have artwork from other artists besides Harada such as Chou Niku's cover and pullout artwork from the light novels and the Disgaea 3 themes ~~Though no artwork from either of the four manga~~, but the rest is mainly in-game artwork which we've all probably seen already.

A couple of things I found interesting:
* The book goes in reverse order starting with Disgaea 4 and ending with Disgaea 1 with the rest of the book covering the spinoff games and promo art.
* Surprisingly, it uses English titles instead of the Japanese titles:
- Section 1: Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten
- Section 2: Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice
- Section 3: Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories
- Section 4: Disgaea: Hour of Darkness
- Section 5: The World of Disgaea
