Jumping glitch?

As a lot of us are, I've been playing Disgaea 3 like mad. Nothing stood out to me as weird.

Except just earlier today, at a story level, I was having my Thunder Fist girl (I think that's what one of her forms is called) cross a Geo Block to get to the other side. So she jumped to get past it.

And I mean JUMPED. Higher... higher... higher... ten or so seconds had passed and I thought my game had froze. She was so high you couldn't see ANYTHING but her and the background, which doesn't move at all.

After some more agonizing seconds (probably another ten) of apparent Rocket Launching Brawler Replacement Girl™, she finally landed. Um.

I know there are Geo Blocks that boost your jumping skills, and you can do so in the Class World too, but the block was neither a jump enhancing block nor did I upgrade my character's jumping ability.

I wonder if you can jump that high eventually in the game. That would be a bit creepy, actually.

Anyone else encounter weird stuff like this?
