Warnings: As always, Yomawari is a horror series, so please proceed with caution when clicking through any links to the main site. On the other end of the spectrum for Disgaea RPG, the Arrogant Overlord-styled Petta event unit is... well, she's dressed like Laharl, so discretion is advised.

We're in for a long one this time. )

... have I been spelling Kamiwaza incorrectly this whole time???

Thank you all for your patience! We've got an extra-long newsletter this time, including some key announcements from September mentioned at the top of the post. The Disgaea 7 collector's edition is gorgeous, and the Mad Rat Dead pins are very stylish - strongly recommend giving them a look!

As always: please be mindful when clicking through either the Yomawari links or the Disgaea RPG character sheets, for considerably different reasons.

And that's the week in review, thank you for your patience! An additional note that due to personal events, the following week's muckrake will be delayed. (If not by a day, then it'll likely be a double-week report.) All that aside, congratulations on GrimGrimoire's re-release, fifteen years after the original!

  • Phantom Kingdom and ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman have released in Japan!
The rest of the week in review. )

And that's the round up for this week, running a little late! Anything catch your eye? This will be the first time the west has gotten La Pucelle: Ragnarok, as previously it was a Japan-only re-release for the PSP. Rhapsody has gotten re-released in the west before, but... perhaps we should politely look the other way on that one and hope this time will be better.

Maybe, perhaps, don't quote me on this.

PlayStation Network is slowly building a library of PlayStation 2 games and one NIS America title, GrimGrimoire, is already available. One of Nippon Ichi’s earlier games, La Pucelle: Tactics might be next.

Korea’s Game Rating Board rated La Pucelle with Sony Computer Entertainment Korea as the publisher. We’re pretty sure this won’t be the expanded PSP port, La Pucelle Ragnarok, since that was rated a year earlier, which also has SCEK as the publisher.

Sony Computer Entertainment Asia just started releasing PS2 Classics with God Hand, Maximo, and GrimGrimoire. Perhaps, La Pucelle: Tactics is next?

Though even if it does come out, there's no guaranty that it'll hit English release either.

If anyone is interested, chapter 1 of La Pucelle: Ragnarok, demon path (good ending path) is on Youtube.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6

Enjoy.

The uploader is still looking for translators if anyone is interested. In the meantime though, at least we have videos ^^.

Two things.

First, as of right now, the "first" DLC for D4 is available in NA. HD Asagi is available on the PSN and it's free. Give the queen of game a good home guys. Edit: Though, no one can actually use her right now. You can dowload her, but NISA needs to patch it in. Just have to wait for the update.

Second, I'm passing this along from gamefaqs. DurableTomb has started putting up videos of La Pucelle Ragnarok on YouTube He's basically looking for someone to translate for his translation/documentation project. There's a bit more info in the link and in his videos. As of now, he has up the first DLC and the NPC dialogue for chapter 1 and 2 of the Demon Path.

Just leaving this here in his place, since I think this could interest some of you.

Okay, so here's the origins of 'Sea of Blood' Priere. I'm just wondering if anyone has a rough translation of the conversation being thrown around - particularly between Croix and Priere. spoilers )

If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it, because it may be relevant to me in the future...

As I was looking at Play Asia, pondering over the idea of one day importing Ragnarok I noticed a pre-order for...

A PVC Figure of Princess Eclair (aka not Dark!Eclair)

Very nice figure! Very expensive price tag. (*sob*)

NISA officially says it: No La Pucelle: Ragnarok. Buy our other games instead.

“All right. No, we will not be able to bring it over. We’ve got a lot of fantastic new titles lined up for 2011, and we think fans will get pumped over those even though we can’t bring LP:R out of Japan. For those who’ve supported it over the years, thank you very much for your efforts, but in the end, we won’t be bringing it out of Japan.”

I find it a bit odd that they felt they had to officially announce it... especially since most of the NISA board and most other boards as well knew that it wasn't coming. Especially since there's been plenty of non official 'noes' going around.

They should've gotten Nomura to redo Cornet's artwork just for kicks.

While it has been said a while ago, the Hero Prinny finally makes his apparition in La Pucelle Ragnarok as DLC.

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/05/28/hero-prinny-saves-the-day-in-la-pucelle-ragnarok/

According to that last one, Hero Prinny is free as well. Elie was free, and Pram in Prinny 2 was free, looks like a new trend for N1, not that I'm complaining.

Alternate Title: Goddess Poitrenne Answers Prayers

http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10117218

To be honest, for some reason, I feel like the new attacks could've been much better. I don't know. They're really flashy (I like Prier's new attack the most) but there's something missing Then again, it could just be bias from the later NI games. However, the team attacks are definitely awesome to watch, especially the Overlord Prier combinations Though they fail in comparison to the awesomeness that is Overlord's Love.

Finally, some actual La Pucelle Ragnarok videos!

Prinny
Flonne
Etna
Laharl

Sadly, it looks like the extra content doesn't get any voice work Did they lose so much money that they couldn't afford the voice actors to return? And they seriously couldn't re-use any of Prier's sound clips for Overlord Priere?, but I'm at least impressed with some of the new stuff they added. The Disgaea trio and Priere have new animations (I'm particularly liking the extra attention to Laharl's scarf) and the attacks are flashy (Speaking of attacks, where's my La Pucelle attack exhibition!?)

So, I could tell you all about how La Pucelle: Ragnarok is going to have DLC. I could also tell you about there being some new way to power up your items.

But, on top of that, it seems N1 is planning something even bigger.

A sequel.
In fact, TWO sequels.

La Pucelle: Ragnarok is now apparently part of an upcoming trilogy.

Now really, who saw this one coming?
